Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of dogs come to Canine Club Getaway?

Canine Camp Getaway is for all kinds of dogs, young and old, large and small, pure bred and "designer" dogs. Your dog does not
have to have formal obedience training or experience in any of the activities we offer, but your dog should be fully housebroken,
non-aggressive toward people and dogs, and reasonably well socialized. Additionally, for the comfort of all our guests, dogs may
not bark excessively during "quiet hours" (10 p.m. - 8 a.m.).

Where does my dog sleep?

Since CCG is all about making you AND your dog happy, your dog is welcome to sleep with you. We ask that if your dog sleeps in
bed with you, that you bring a sheet to cover the bedding. You can also bring a dog bed, if your dog prefers it.

Do I bring food for my dog?

Because our dogs eat a wide variety of different foods, we request that you bring your dog's regular food. Our store will sell some
tasty treats, as well.

My dog is on a special diet. Is there a refrigerator available to store dog food?

We have limited refrigerator space for dogs on a special diet. Please let us know in advance if you are bringing dog food that
needs to be refrigerated, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

My dog has never done most of the activities listed. Can we still participate?

We have activities for dogs of all levels from beginner to advanced, so Canine Club Getaway is a great opportunity to introduce
your dog to some new activities, or brush up on some old ones. We will also have free swim time in the pool, guided walks and
plenty of lectures and seminars where you and your dog can sit and rest a while. You can do as much or as little as you want. Best
of all, you will be able to spend quality time with your very best friend in beautiful surroundings with like-minded dog people.
What a great gift for you AND your dog!

What vaccinations are required for my dog? Are titers accepted?

We require that all dogs be up-to-date on their vaccines (titers are acceptable), show proof of negative fecal sample and provide
proof of Rabies vaccination in order to attend. All dogs must be free of fleas; we highly recommend some form of tic prevention
prior to attending camp.

What happens if my dog gets sick while we're there?

We will have a veterinarian and vet tech on the premises who will be available to do fitness evaluations, and deal with any
unexpected illness or injuries.

Does my dog have to be neutered/spayed?

Dogs do not have to be neutered/spayed, but dogs in heat are not permitted at CCG.

What kind of activities are there for us to do?

We have all kinds of activities planned for you and your dog, including beginner, intermediate and advanced agility classes, agility
games, swimming lessons, free swim, lure coursing, flyball, frisbee, rally obedience, tricks classes, guided walks, Barks and Crafts,
Fitness Evaluations, introduction to dog training, Canine Good Citizen prep classes and testing, Therapy Dogs International prep
classes and testing, obedience classes, a Doggie Costume Contest and much more. We will also have seminars on such topics as
Emergency Canine First Aid, how to address various behavioral issues and canine nutrition, among others. For your convenience,
we will have a groomer on the premises, as well. Night time entertainment will help you wind down with a variety of evening
activities including live music, dancing, karaoake night. The Catskills also offers plenty of nearby activities for those who want to
explore the area, including golf, antiquing, shopping, and fishing.

What if it rains?

No one likes rain, but we'd never let a little rain stand in the way of having a good time! Unless it's a downpour or a thunderstorm,
most activities will continue to be held outdoors, while others may be moved inside to the spacious conference center. Indoor
programming is also planned in the event of heavy rain.

What kind of food do you have?

We know that great food makes a great vacation even better, so we've planned some terrific culinary delights to help you enjoy
your time with us. Canine Camp Getaway is an all-inclusive vacation that provides three sit-down meals daily with full wait
service and a variety of gourmet choices, including vegetarian options.

What are the rooms like?

Guests staying onsite will be able to enjoy clean, comfortable, newly renovated rooms with air conditioning, private baths, cable
TV and wireless Internet. Onsite accommodates will be offered on a first-come, first serve basis.

Can I bring alcohol?

Our resort offers a cash bar where you can enjoy late afternoon "Yappy Hour" or a delicious evening cocktail. For that reason, we
ask that you do not bring any alcoholic beverages onto the property.

What supplies should I bring with me?

For your dog, you'll want to bring your best friend's leash and collar (no flex leads, please), food, treats, bowls, a dog bed (if your
dog doesn't sleep with you), dog towels, a sheet to cover the bedding with (if your dog prefers to sleep in bed with you), a crate
(any dog left alone in the hotel room must be crated), a picture of your dog, poop bags, and a costume for the doggie costume
contest (if you'd like to participate). For you, be sure to bring comfortable shoes, a flashlight with extra batteries, alarm clock,
hair dryer, swimming gear, rain gear, sweatshirt or jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, mosquito repellant, a portable chair, personal
toiletries/medications and a fanny pack. Our CCG Store will also be available to purchase sweatshirts and T-shirts, hats, dog treats
and other dog-related items.

What is the weather like?

Weather can range from sunny and very warm to quite chilly at night, so be prepared for both extremes. We also recommend
bringing an umbrella, rain poncho and rain boots, since many outdoor activities will be held rain or shine.

Can I bring my children?

We're sorry, but due to liability issues, no human children under the age of 18 may attend Canine Club Getaway. Puppies over the
age of four months are welcome, however!

My dog has no obedience training. Can we still come to Canine Club Getaway?

Dogs do not need obedience training to come to CCG, as long as they are reasonably well socialized and human- and dog-friendly.
If you're unsure about whether or not your dog would do well in such an environment, give us a call and we can talk with you
further about whether or not your dog would benefit from the CCG experience.

If I'm attending alone but want a roommate, can you arrange that for me?

If you would like to be matched with a roommate, let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate you!

Do you take credit cards?

We now accept Visa & Mastercard.

What do I do with my dog while I’m eating?

Well behaved dogs may join you for meals in the designated K-9 corral area of the dining room. Dogs left in the room must be
crated when you are not present. This is for the safety of both the hotel staff and your dog, and will be strictly enforced. Please
be sure to bring an appropriate sized crate for your dog, as we do not provide crates.

My dog is not crate trained? What do I do?

It’s not too late to crate train your dog! Most dogs quickly come to understand the concept of the crate as their “den,” and will
soon regard the crate as a safe place where they can rest after a busy day of activities. If you need help with crate training, feel
free to contact us and we will be happy to send you a “how to” guide.
